10 am ~ 4 pm

Abraham Staats House and Grounds / Soldiers Encampment at 17 von Steuben Lane, South Bound Brook, NJ, 08880 open to public.

9:30 am ~ 5 pm

10 am

Soldiers leave Abraham Staats House to march down Main Street, South Bound Brook, to Queens Bridge and the Old Stone Arch Bridge on Railroad Ave.

10:30 am ~ 11:30 am

Battle Begins!! Re-enactment #1
Soldiers March and Fight on the Old Stone Arch Bridge and Queens Bridge to Reenact “The Battle of Bound Brook”!! The Loyalist troops attack and push the Patriot Forces in a Retreat up Bolmer Boulevard to the cemetery.

11:30 am ~ 11:45 am

Ceremony by Troops at the Old Presbyterian Graveyard, next to the Bound Brook Memorial Library, , 402 E. High St., BB 08805.
See Special Exhibits at the Bound Brook Memorial Library Open to Public for Special Exhibits.

11:45 am ~ 1:00 pm Lunch for Soldiers – on Hamilton Street, Bound Brook 08805 –
With American, British and Hessian Soldiers of the American Revolution!

1:00 pm

Soldiers assemble and begin march back to South Bound Brook over Queens Bridge.  

1:30 pm ~ 2:30 pm

Battle Re-enactment #2
All troops initiate Street Battle in South Bound Brook,
starting at Elm & Main St., SBB (south end of Queen’s Bridge) and battling along Main Street to Maple Ave.

2:30 pm

All troops clear Main Street and return to the Soldiers Encampment at the historic Abraham Staats House, South Bound Brook.

On the Grounds of the Abraham Staats House: (Free)

Visit the living history American Revolutionary Soldiers Encampment at the Abraham Staats House c. 1740, Come see life as it existed for the soldiers, camp followers and others who lived the American past.
Military Drills, Demonstrations, Contests, Camp Life: Living history demonstrations ~ soldiers drilling and practicing military tactics, sutlers (merchants) selling colonial goods, sewing, basket weaving and cooking, period music and refreshments at the camp. The soldiers will be drilling during the afternoon, just as they did 200 years ago.
(No fee for activities on outside grounds of the Abraham Staats House.)

Memorial Service in memory of Harry Stephens, a friend, fellow historian, and leader ~ 24th Connecticut Militia Regiment

4 pm

Soldiers Encampment and Abraham Staats House closed to the public
See you back on Sunday the 14th.

“Battle & Brews History Tour/Pub Stroll” in Bound Brook (2 separate tours)
FREE. Patrons must be over 21 & purchase own drinks. Meet in front of Brook Theater Come for the Battle and stay for the Brews! Register on Eventbrite.

4 pm ~ 7 pm

Pasta Dinner ~ While in South Bound Brook enjoy a great Pasta Dinner, at the Fellowship Hall of the Reformed Church of Bound Brook
Location: Fellowship Hall, 113 Clinton St., South Bound Brook
   Free to registered reenactors and open to the public
   Adults: $10, Seniors & Reenactors: $9, 5-10 years: $6, 4 and under: Free

Spring Publick Ball at Historic Van Horne House 941 Main St., Bridgewater, NJ 08807 Period music. Join dancers in period dress for 18th century country dancing. $20 pp. $15 for those in period attire. Register at www.heritagetrail.org.

Buffet Breakfast, South Bound Brook Fire Co. #1 Firehouse  Eat with the soldiers and colonial camp followers at the famous All-You-Can-Eat Sunday Buffet Breakfast at the South Bound Brook Firehouse on Edgewood Terrace.
   Free to registered reenactors and open to the public
   Adults: $9, Seniors: $8; under age ten: $6, under age 5: free.

Lecture:  Robert A. Mayers presenting “The Bloody Battle of Bound Brook-A Humiliating American Defeat or a Courageous Stand by Outnumbered Patriots?” followed by a book signing. Share the audience with reenactors! (Weekend Pass required for lecture and book signing)

2:30 pm ~ 3:30 pm

Battle Re-enactment #3 on the grounds of the Abraham Staats House. Watch the American and British soldiers as they perform military maneuvers of the American Revolution featuring Patriotic and Loyalist units portraying the soldiers of the American Revolution

4 pm

Soldiers Encampment and Abraham Staats House closed to public.
