Sponsored by the Heritage Trail Association, the 2024 “Middlebrook Five Generals” bus tour will take place Sunday, Feb. 18, with the Abraham Staats House featured as one of the five homes still standing today which were used as military headquarters by Gen. George Washington and four of his American generals, during the Middlebrook Cantonment of 1778-79.

2024 Middlebrook 5 Generals Narrated Bus Tour

Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 Middlebrook bus tour!  Two years away from the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the Revolutionary War, get acclimated to the area where the continental army spent their winter 1778-79, planning, training, dancing and more.  A once ignored winter by historians, Middlebrook is coming into the conversation through new research, books and symposia with new information is coming to light.

Tours run 10, 11am and 1, 2pm. 

The tour happens on the bus with 5 stops at the homes that housed General Washington and 4 of his generals during the Middlebrook winter cantonment right here in Somerset County.
